All of us who have had small children at home have spent long periods of time watching cartoons with them and sometimes, suffering with those cartoons, hasn't it happened to you?
There are drawings that we like and others that we fail to understand how our children like, although in this as in everything there are tastes of all colors.
Today I propose to give a brief review of some of the cartoon series of the last seasons, the ones they like, the ones we don't like that they like, the ones that some of us don't understand how they might like, are you coming?
Adventure Time
I start with one that children and some children like very much but I recognize I have not gotten the point.
Cartoon Network's "Adventure Time" tells the story of a boy and a dog who talks and transforms. They live in a world completely loaded with magic and very unconventional in which they live with such peculiar characters as the bubblegum princess or the ice king, an individual obsessed with cheating and marrying a princess, even if he has to kidnap her.
The faithful followers of this series are very sad because since Cartoon Network they have announced that it is over.
When the ninth season is over there will be no more. It is also true that this is expected to happen in 2018, so there is still “Adventure Time” for a while…
The canine patrol
The little ones are delighted with the adventures of these dogs and their owner. For a matter of age in my house it is not the one that my children see or have seen most, it already catches them somewhat older than the two, although occasionally the little one stays stuck to the screen when seeing it, it is true.
But it turns out that not all mothers like this series, the other day I read the post of Angels in his blog, in which he explained the reasons why he does not like these drawings at all and I must admit that it is very logical what he says .
Doraemon
How many decades have these drawings been in issue? I am writing this while my little son is watching a new chapter of this series in which a cat of the future solves all the problems of a rather vague and somewhat selfish child.
No, I am not a fan of the series but my children like it and thousands of children around the world and for a few years now it will be for something! that obviously I do not finish appreciating or finding or understanding ...
The amazing world of Gumball
It is another one of those series to which I have not been able to find the charm that my children have found and a lot of children more distributed by different countries in which this series is broadcast.
Gumball is a species of cat that has a cat as a mother and as a father a rabbit, its sister is a rabbit and its “adoptive” brother is a fish.
You see those who do not know that it is an absolutely surreal series that mixes real image, stopmotion and animation without any modesty, which would be great but this is joined by scripts in which the dialogues are sometimes not suitable for children depending on the age and the possibility of an adult explaining to them that what may sound fun is really macho, insulting, offensive or unfair.
It is also broadcast on Cartoon Network as the aforementioned "Adventure Time" and This one in particular is made of “cuts and debris” yes, literally.
Ben Bocquelet is the creator of this series for which he gathered all those characters, drawings, ideas and sketches that had rejected him in other projects and introduced them into a school environment, that's it! The secret of his success! Don't you find it amazing?
Sponge Bob
No, I could not stop leaving this lobotomizing and simple character until I could no longer.
I don't like it either, it bores me, it surprises me (for worse) and sometimes I even get angry. I do not catch the point of his sense of humor but my children loved it during a good season that we have overcome thanks to all the stars.
I do not like his friend Patricio, I do not like the stale squidward, I can not stand the greedy of Mr. Krabs or of course the absurdity of SpongeBob himself. It may be something generational, I do not deny it but ... I do not find the grace for more than twist the sponge to see if something comes out.
