The giant panda bear at Zoo Aquarium Xing Bao goes for a walk in the meadow

It has already been seen in the meadow of Madrid Aquarium Zoo to Xing Bao, the baby giant panda bear born on August 30, 2013 accompanied by his mother. In the images you can see him very calm next to a huge slide and climbing the trees. In the video below you can also see him evolving with his mother and recognizing the terrain.

Xing Bao He has had a great time in the meadow and going up and down the wooden game that has been designed and sponsored especially by iPlay Urban Design. The structure, with double ladder and slide access, will allow Xing Bao to exercise his climbing skills sliding from a height of two meters or enjoy swinging a swing located at its base, a novelty for the little panda who has not stopped running with his mother.

The evolution of Xing Bao during these seven months is spectacular and has become a strong and playful bear cub that has grown rapidly and gradually thanks to breastfeeding that, in the last two months, has been complemented with some bamboo leaf. It is an amazing development that has turned him into a little panda that already reaches 15 kilos compared to 210 grams with what was born on August 30.

The endearing appearance of this animal has aroused smiles and exclamations of affection in its first presentation in the meadow. A birth that marks a new milestone in the world of conservation joining those of Chulín, my generation of the year 1982 and the twins Po and De De of 2010.

The director of Zoology of Parques Reunidos, Jesús Fernández, has stressed the important role of zoological parks “in the conservation of this species in serious danger of extinction that is part of the ex situ breeding and reproduction program that Zoo Aquarium of Madrid and The Parques Reunidos Group is carried out in collaboration with the Association of Zoological Parks of China, whose main objective is the conservation of one of the most threatened species on the planet". It is estimated that there are 1,600 giant pandas in freedom, 376 in zoological institutions of which 47 of them are outside of China. In Madrid, three of the twelve specimens living in the European continent live.

In addition to the presentation of Xing Bao, an exhibition of photographs, made by Jeroen Jacobs that show personality of the panda bear in the 18 zoological institutions outside China that have these specimens in addition to the breeding centers and parks of their country of origin, has been inaugurated . This sample you can visit in the Aquarium exhibition hall of the Madrid Zoo until next June 30. There is more information on the GiantPandaZoo page that records the events and news that occur worldwide on giant pandas that reside in zoos and breeding centers.

We are very happy about the evolution of Xing Bao. It is very exciting to see him enjoy the Zoo with his mother and while he discovers and adapts to the attractions and entertainment they have built for him. I hope to see an image of Xing Bao pulling down the slide though it seems to me that he will not dare To do it.
