Advent calendar this year ?: easy to make and beautiful at the same time, you will like it

I think it's time for us to think about how to design our Advent calendar for this year, that time is running very fast, and it takes less than two weeks to arrive on December 1.

I have been searching for easy and at the same time beautiful ideas, and I have fallen in love with this. It is in Inspirations by D, and it is a good solution for families with children who want to have their own advent calendar, and do not have much time, although they usually take a place every week to make crafts.

You already know that I don't like commercial advent calendars that are all the same and they have a chocolate bar under each tab with the day, they are so impersonal !, and they also contribute nothing while waiting for Christmas.

So we go with this ingenious idea,

We need:

  • A pack of wooden tweezers, a wooden board of about 40/50 square centimeters, white glue (or glutax or double-sided adhesive tape), red, white and silver acrylic paint, glitter, washi tape (optional), fine red and white cotton cord ( in haberdashery), Christmas ornaments, gomets with Christmas motifs, brown wrapping paper to hide the gifts, small envelopes to keep clues, thick-tipped red marker.
As for the board you may have at home some piece of smooth and flat wood, you can also order it in the carpentry, I will use the back of a cork board to hang notes

How do we do it:

First we decorate one by one the 24 clamps that represent the waiting days for Christmas Eve. If we have varied materials we can alternate: we paint some in white and then with red oblique lines, others we cover them with white glue and sprinkle glitter, we also used the washi tape (surely at this point you already find in many stationery stores with colors and ornaments Christmas), ...

We let them dry and We prepare the board or similar cleaning of grease and dust so that the tongs stick better. It is time to select the ornaments to hang, to think of simple gifts with which to give to the small discoverers of Advent (printables, scented erasers, a figure of Bethlehem, an easy recipe for Christmas), here are some suggestions, surely you can think of more.

Once the paint and the tail of the tweezers has dried we will paste them on the board, no matter if they are aligned or not, it is about learning and living Advent, not about doing a work of art. We can glue them with white glue (it is what I like most), double-sided adhesive tape or glutax (they use it in schools). Now we must let the board dry.

Now we wrap the presents (nothing happens if one day we include a typical Christmas candy), and We complete calendar days with clues or stories about Christmas (which we will write on pieces of paper and keep in an envelope), leaving some space for a couple of ornaments such as stars or tree balls. When distributing surprises let's try to combine so that they don't have many days in a row gifts, nor find for a whole week without alternating Christmas carols or passages from the Bible.

Once the clamps are dry we can tie the 24 elements with cord hold the other end to the clamp. To finish our calendar we just need to write the numbers (one to 24) on top of each one ...

As I told you, this is my choice, if you like ahead, and if not you can spend a little time doing blog searches (usually from moms or dads), better if you also expand to English to find more things; You can also try on Pinterest. Luck!
