In 2010 the Kirico group established its annual Prize awarded by booksellers, which this year has fallen to 'The Secret of Luís', written and illustrated by Mario Ramos. Published by Corimbo publishing house, This story is full of humor and sensitivity, as are the rest of the author's works.
From 'Luis's secret' it has been said that demystifies the characters of traditional tales, and in truth the wolf seems helpless and weak against the brave little pigs. The Kirico Book Prize arises in 2010 with the intention of selecting quality works aimed at “apprentices of readers”, boys and girls who are in the first reading stage and need to be stimulated by good stories that facilitate the path through literature. In the choice of the award-winning book, the quality of texts, narratives or poetics, interesting stories and well-constructed characters. Throughout the year, the booksellers exchange in group their opinion on the books that arrive at their bookstores, until reaching the 10 finalist titles.
A new student arrives at school and, as usual, feels observed and not at all accepted. The chase and teasing are increasing, until a partner is on their side challenging the rest. The Kirico Club is a network formed by 98 bookstores associated with CEGAL (Spanish Confederation of Guilds and Bookshop Associations) specialized in children's and youth literature, dedicated to the selection of books for their readers from the cultural space of the bookstore, which was created at the initiative of a group of booksellers of CEGAL, 10 years ago.
