The Transforma Talento initiative is an optimistic vision to get Spain to develop the talent of its citizens

The Everis Foundation He has presented the Transform Talent initiative to His Majesty the King of Spain. It is an evolution of the original idea called Transforma Spain, led by Everis Foundation, and now joined by four new promoters: APD (association for management progress), Educared of the Telefónica Foundation, Universia and the SEK Educational Institution through the Global Education Forum.

It's about a project backed by 180 national and international experts formed by parents, students, educators, scientists, entrepreneurs or entrepreneurs from all areas of civil society.

Why is Transforma Talent created? Basically to make a diagnosis of the importance of talent today in Spain and how it is being developed, of the objectives that must be set for the future and of the plan that must be carried out to achieve the objective.

And in Spain:

  • Three out of ten children do not finish their school studies, or what is the same 1,642,725 children
  • One in two young people cannot find a job, that is 2,654,541 Spanish youth
  • One in three adults has trouble reaching the end of the month, 10,574,764 adults
  • For pensioners, having incomes close to 1,000 euros is an unattainable dream after a lifetime dedicated to work

It is considered essential that civil society initiate a transformation towards talent that allows us to place ourselves again in the leading squad of Europe and the world.

In the report, at the end of the article an executive summary is linked, it is shown that Spain must assume and needs to make a structural and transversal change, as it did in other stages of recent history. This fact is a challenge full of opportunities and, at the same time, it is a starting point with a solid base of optimism, since if it has already been done once, it can be repeated once more.

The challenges and opportunities contained in the Transforma Talento report are in the hands of the whole society: in parents, students, educators, educational managers, intermediaries, entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, scientists, politicians, public managers, regulators, legislators and citizens in general .

The report proposes a series of actions that require structural and systematic changes that fall under the umbrella of public authorities. In addition, initiatives aimed at civil society, which do not require structural changes or the intervention of public authorities, are needed.

Transforma Talento proposes two priority objectives:

  1. Complete the pending revolution of the talent development system and that the student ceases to be a passive object to become the active subject of his education. The current educational contents are mainly based on people's cognitive abilities and, although these are essential skills in their training, they must be expanded with the development of transversal skills from an early age.
  2. Set up a productive device in Spain that encourages the full realization of each talent and the combination of different talents in each person. It is necessary to reinforce the productive apparatus with a new profile of workers based on active and participatory talents. The acceptance by the whole society of a transparent, predictable and equitable meritocracy is urgent. It is not about the person working harder, but about doing better and exploiting their talents above the standard requirements.

It is worth taking a look at the executive summary of the proposal and especially the participants who support the summary of Transforma Talento conclusions. Among them you can find large companies from Spain, Foundations, Universities and there are also CEAPA and CONCAPA as representatives of families, fathers and mothers.

And in Spain we do not stand out for our mineral resources or our energy reserves so our people and their talents are the most valuable thing we have. And we all have talent: fathers, mothers, students, educators, entrepreneurs, workers and citizens in general. It seems necessary then that this report helps to create and also guide the axis of talent in our society and in our economy to anticipate the challenges of the future.
