Easter Holidays 2012: Some suggestions to spend leisure time "under cover" in Holy Week

As you all know, the weather forecast for this Holy Week is from instability with heavy cloudiness and frequent showers that may be accompanied by storms. Even in the Canary Islands the rains are probable, and although it seems that as of Thursday the fifth day there is a tendency to decrease rainfall, more than one will be worried about whether the weather spoils the long-awaited holidays.

But do not worry because rest days are insured, and also even at the destination you can find alternatives to enjoy family time "under cover". Then we have selected a small (very small) list of museums and exhibitions in different Spanish cities, and we have done so to encourage you to find your options. Where will you be during Holy Week? Are you going to travel or stay at home? A little rain never hurts but I agree that one does not book airline tickets and hotel rooms and then spend the whole day inside. Surely the establishments you have chosen have a good entertainment service so that nobody gets bored, but Did you know these places?

If you are going to enjoy the beautiful Galician town of Ponferrada and the water catches you, you may not be able to admire the “Clock Tower”, but you will surely visit the Railway Museum, it is a safe bet. And although the Santander coast is so beautiful under the gray clouds that cover the blue sky, you may not feel like soaking with children, so it will be more advisable to enter the Cantabrian Maritime Museum to have fun and learn about the sea.

If a storm is unleashed, we cannot discover the charms of Barcelona on foot, but ask the children if they want to visit the Chocolate Museum, the answer you already know, a journey for all of the sweetest. Murcia has a great craft tradition and a Mediterranean character that is printed in every corner, but how could we enjoy its streets with children in arms and without hands to hold the umbrella ?, its Archaeological Museum I think you will like it.

Strolling through the Alcazaba of Malaga may not feel like we are going to soak, however the Picasso Museum is a good option to take our children. And of course in Albarracín we will discard the cave paintings in the open air but who prevents us from crossing the door of the Toy Museum? You will be satisfied, that's for sure.

Finally, do not be afraid of not being able to transmit to children the wonderful legends that hide in Tenerife, if it rains and you do not want to walk through its streets, visit the Museum of Science and the Cosmos. And if you have flown to our other islands and you are close to Palma de Mallorca, you can visit the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation, instead of walking through the Passeig des Born, or through the historic center while drops of water fall on you.

And on Wednesday (the day of our weekly Spring post) we will give you ideas for playing very spring games outdoors or indoors - just in case -.
