"Fermin and the Magi", the gifts that really matter

Our partners of Peques and more They tell us today about a book that I had pending to bring to our pages, a story that talks about the things we want and what happens when we do not get our desires, some impossible, others unknown and more at our fingertips than we we can think

"Fermin and the Magi" is a story that tells us about the gifts that really matter, and now that the Christmas dates are approaching, surely many families and children will love their history.

Its protagonist is Fermín, a four-year-old boy who, as many of your children will do (and dads too) writes the letter to the Magi. His dog Abundio accompanies him on his adventures, simple and well-defined characters for children.

Fermín wants what any child, material objects, toys, but also to be the best playing football, not having a dream in the morning, spending more time with his mother or that his little brother does not cry. The surprise will come with the gift Baltasar brings you: time. This is the story synopsis:

Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar are kings as magicians as the ones who do the most, but they cannot always bring everything they ask to Fermin and that is sometimes a problem. This is a book for all kinds of kings: rich and poor, loved and feared, lost and found, and for all types of Fermines: impatient or lazy, moderate or insatiable. A book that talks about the things we want and what happens when we get them, and even what happens when we can't have them. Like Alice's magical concoctions, this story makes us grow and dwarf each drink. It is especially suitable for children who cannot have everything and for kings who cannot bring it.

The author of "Fermín y los Reyes Magos" is Antonio Vicente, journalist and sociologist, teacher of literary creation of both children and adults and expert in the educational value of the story. He has published stories of emotional education, dramatizations for the classroom and unit texts for children.

The illustrations are by Carmen Queralt, one of the most original illustrators of recent times, habitual in children's books and with a very personal style full of humor and imagination.

The combination of both results in an emotional story that talks about the gifts that really matter, the passage of time and how children grow. "Fermín y los Reyes Magos" is published by Narval Editores, has 32 pages and costs 15 euros.
