Have you decided not to have more children in the wake of the crisis?

A couple of days ago we explained that the Generalitat de Catalunya had planned to modify the criteria for awarding aid for children between 0 and 3 years, a measure that, most likely, the majority of couples considered as mileuristas will not be able to perceive it.

Ciberia, one of the users with more comments from Babies and more (and with which I agree more every day) he told us in that post that in Madrid the situation is similar and that she in particular cannot consider having more children watching the current panorama.

After taking off the baby check and after modifying the regional aid, after leaving thousands of children without a nursery place every year and after rejecting the modification of maternity leave (not reaching the desired 20 weeks of leave) we are the country whose government less support they give for son.

That is why I am asking: Have you decided not to have more children in the wake of the crisis?

It is not that birth aid is anyone's solution. The 2,500 euros of the baby check were not more than 4 years old, so I doubt that we can say that we depend on it today (we with our first child do not perceive it and yes with the second) and the help of the Generalitat knew almost by chance (when we got pregnant for the first time we didn't know her).

However, the elimination of the aid or the modification of the award criteria must be added to several measures that are being taken by the regional governments and the state government with which they are "drowning" us a little more every day and hey, depending on the aid exclusively maybe not, but besides that they are not going badly, when you add them to other cuts, the thing gets serious and can make you decant the balance towards not having more children.

It's hard to understand, especially when you see that the pyramid of the Spanish population has an increasingly smaller base, that is to say, that there are many fewer children than adults and that, if there are now problems in paying pensions, imagine what will happen when we reach old people and young people and adults, children now, have to support the country.

Ciberia's comment made me think that surely many of the people considered “middle class”, poor indebted and mortgaged like me, in the age of having children, are deciding to “close the factory” in the current situation. And if one of the two people who make up the couple is unemployed, something quite likely considering that there are more than 5 million unemployed, having another child can become a utopia.

Anyway (I always end up with an "in short"), then we have to see how politicians continue to raise their salary despite everything or listen to Arcadi Oliveres, a well-known Catalan economist and activist (who is glad to hear about speaking), say in an assembly of the camping in Barcelona that Spain, for being part of the Europe of the Euro, had to give last year 10,000 million euros to rescue Greece, which is just the 10,000 million that the government has cut us not raising the pensions, lowering the salary by 5% to hundreds of thousands of Spaniards, slowing development aid and removing the baby check, among other measures. Bad come on.

By the way, I suppose it will be unconsciousness, but we are, today, closer to the third party than the no.
