Is it necessary for children to scream?

What better sound than the screams of children having fun in the park, on the beach, in the countryside, in the schoolyard, in the fair, outdoors, in the nursery, in the playroom ... But what happens when scream inside the house? Better posed, what happens when the little ones shout inside the house and there are neighbors? There are neighbors who want to rest, or with babies who are also bothered.

At some time in the blog we have talked about the little neighbor respect for the precious (for some) silence. I do not object to the cries of boys and girls in the first cases I have pointed out. Moreover, I believe that these expressions are a source of necessary energy discharge and a spontaneous sample of their feelings.

But I miss the silence inside the house, when the floors are separated with those walls, floors and ceilings so thin that at the slightest rise in the voice annoy the neighbor. As you can imagine, I have some screaming neighbors. The parents and the children.

Children are not to blame, of course. They have learned that shouting is another way of communicating, the usual way.

But I, just in case and as long as I do not enter my possibilities to live in a villa in the countryside, I try to speak in normal tones to my 18-month-old girl and help her understand that screaming is no longer heard. When there is someone sleeping at home, when it is time for a nap, very early or at dusk, at home they talk quietly, and signs of joy or anger do not need screaming.

Of course, it goes without saying the wheelie or tricycles are not used to run down the aisle and he leaves the house quietly and not in a crowd with a bare shout so that the whole staircase hears it… Another thing is the cries, these are cries and cannot be silenced. Little can we do to not listen to street traffic. But those screams ... Oh, precious and longed for neighborhood silence!
