25 Spanish projects will compete in the I PlayStation®Awards Edition

A few months ago we were commenting on Peques and Más how Sony presented the I Edition of the PlayStation Awards. Now you can know what are the 25 projects selected to compete in the various categories of the I PlayStation Awards Edition that Sony Computer Entertainment España (SCE Spain) has selected.

As we have already mentioned, these awards aim to become national reference for local development support and impulse to independent, original and quality projects. This first edition has been presented more than 100 teams. Among all of them a qualified PlayStation jury has selected 25 jobs that will compete to take the main award to the Best Game of 2014, or any of the four secondary: to Most Innovative Gameat Game with the Best Artat Best Use of PlayStation Platforms and at Best Children's Game. Below you can see a list of those selected from whom perhaps many fathers and mothers know the games or people who are working on their developments. There are six action titles / platforms and five graphic adventures, there are also three racing games, two RPG-RPGs, two strategy games, two puzzles, two children's titles, two shooters and a party game.

According Roberto Yeste, New Development Manager of Sony in Spain, “we have been surprised and exceeded the very high participation in this first edition, the enormous quality and the remarkable illusion that all the teams have put in the works sent. It has been really difficult to make a selection of only 25 projects among all those received, but we are sure that the teams that have not passed this first screening still have a long journey and a future full of successes. We certainly encourage you to come back next year in the Second Edition. ”

The candidates will participate in the next Madrid Games Week 2014 fair, which will take place at the fairgrounds IFEMA of Madrid between October 16 and 19 of 2014. There will be 14 exhibition booths in which the 25 teams will be rotated to teach the public and the attending media a playable beta / demo of their work in competition. The winners in the different categories will be announced during the first week of December 2014 and I hope we can also tell in Peques and More.

It is very important and exciting this I PlayStation Awards Edition because it is aimed at small studios and young Spanish developers, as well as national companies that have invoiced less than 100,000 euros in 2013 and is a fantastic lever to develop successful projects in the future. We also remember that the teams that participated had to meet at least one game designer, a programmer and a artist and know how to develop with UNITY technology. It is without a doubt profiles and skills that our children can begin to develop because they will surely continue to have momentum and recognition in the future.

Among the companies that are already working with Sony and Playstation platforms are Novarama, Tonika Games, Zinkia, Virtual toys or U-Play, companies that have already developed sagas and emblematic titles such as PlayChapasTM, Ugly Duckling: the prettiest game, Geronimo Stilton, Invizimals or Tadeo Jones.

We wish the selected 25 good luck and we will be attentive to their progression in the future.
