I just found A very interesting resource for children who are learning the letters, which combines drawings, stories, songs and music with animals. This material can be used with children from the age of three.
Quico and Queca are the children who take care of the zoo. They were worried because they could not read, but the magician Aurelio solved their problem and allowed them to hear how animals speak, and understand them: each animal will teach them a letter.
The authors to develop this resource invented a story for each letter, represented by the animal whose initial corresponds to that letter, for example: the Pepe duck for the "P", the Ramón mouse for the "R" ... and also takes advantage to present both uppercase and lowercase letters.
Later they also performed one song for each letter. So, traveling through this curious zoo, children click on each animal and learn the corresponding letters, apart from enjoying the little stories or the songs.
The case of some "conflicting" letters also appear solved. For example, the "H", which belongs to the "hippo hippo" is mute because the animal is aphonic, the "G" has two sounds "ga, go, gu" of the three kittens and "ge, gi" of the 'giragatos ', adopted by the giraffe, which mimic the sound of their adoptive mother. The animations are very simple, maybe this makes children feel very close.
The main objective of the project is that children learn to read and write pleasantly, and the little ones have a good time. By levels, the objectives pursued are:
- In three and four years familiarize the children through the characters of the zoo with the letters.
- In five years, reading and writing work respecting each child's own maturity.
It is also chased music awareness and dramatization for a comprehensive education, the cultivation of memory, knowledge of basic aspects of animal life and nature and development of values such as friendship, sincerity, companionship, equality ...
This interesting resource to learn the lyrics in a fun way thanks to the stories and songs of the animals was developed by teaching staff of the CEIP Fuente Nueva and becomes a complementary material for the learning of reading and writing in Infant Education.
